Ladies and gentlemen, we have entered a new chapter in the history of the Philippines. We made a new step by making it on the country's first automated national election. The results are quicker than expected. Right now some mayors are already and officially winners unlike before it will take you around 2-3 weeks for the initial results.
It's funny how the so called automated elections would speed up our voting procedures. But here are the facts: The waiting time for some precinct became longer, more exhausting and sometimes lethal due to some ballot machines that aren't working. There are reports of over 400 machines nationwide that are defective. As a result 25% of the registered voters didn't get the chance to vote because of these techy problems. Now 80% of the election ballots are in, Noynoy Aquino iii, son of former president Cory Aquino and the late senator Ninoy Aquino, and brother of the celebrity horn Kris Aquino, is leading the presidential election. The results...later, another 6 years of a new president's regime...how will we be after 6 years?
